Air Pumps

YES!  Penis Pumps actually do work!  Just don’t expect a miracle overnight.

How penis pumps work:

Penis pumps work though a very simple principle.  The pumping action creates a vacuum effect that draws blood into the penis faster than it’s able to leave, resulting in an erection.  A man places his penis into the pump’s cylinder and firmly presses the base against his body to create an airtight seal. He then squeezes the bulb or hand piece on the pump to create an increase in pressure inside the cylinder, which causes increased blood flow to the penis.  Simultaneous use of a cock ring further helps by restricting the exit of blood.  Blood is drawn in but not let out – that’s the basic idea behind penis pumps and erections in general.

Types of penis pumps:

The basic engineering of all penis pumps is simple. A tube to house the penis is attached by a hose to a vacuum penis pumping device that sucks the air out of the tube. A lip around the base of the tube makes a tight-fitting seal around the penis. As the air is pumped out of the tube by the vacuum pump, it pulls the penis further into the tube and increases blood flow.

There are basically 4 types of penis pumps.

  1. 1.     The Hand Grip type

Considered by many to be the best for penis pumping, the grip type pump is quite popular with those who have tried more than one. Hand grip penis pumps are said to be better at regulating pressure.

  1. 2.     The Squeeze Ball type

The squeeze ball appears to be the most common type of pump and the most widely used. A rubber squeeze ball, such as that used to pump up a blood pressure cuff in a doctor's office, is attached to an air valve, then to a hose which attaches to the tube. With the air valve closed, the ball is squeezed and air is removed from the tube creating a vacuum. The more times you squeeze, the stronger the suction becomes. To release the pressure, simply open the air valve

  1. 3.     The Plunger type

This works a lot like a bicycle tire pump. Works just like the pumps above, but a handle on top pulls the air out and the penis in.

  1. 4.     The Electric type

Electric pumps offer all the bells and whistles of the pumps above, but it’s done automatically.  Along with multiple settings, they offer pretty much hands-free pumping.

Is a penis pump an effective erectile dysfunction treatment?

Penis pumps are hugely successful at addressing erectile dysfunction, albeit temporarily.  The use of a pump will almost surely result in a larger, harder erection, and there is no more immediate way for a man to get an erection than by using a pump.  Erectile dysfunction drugs like Viagra, Levitra and Cialis can’t even come close to the quickness of a pump(1).  If a man cant get an erection by using a pump, he generally cant get an erection.

The effects of a penis pump are only temporary, however.  If you’re able to achieve your biggest erection ever by using a pump, don’t expect to be able to get the same results without one the next time.  Any gains in size are most likely due to an over-filling effect, which your body won’t immediately be able to reproduce on its own.  There is evidence that over time, however, these gains may be more likely to become permanent.

From the MayoClinic.com:

Using a penis pump may be a good option for you if erectile dysfunction medications don't work and penile implant surgery isn't a good choice. A penis pump may also help you maintain penis size and regain sexual function following prostate surgery.

• Less chance of problems. The risk of side effects or complications is the lowest of any erectile dysfunction treatment.

• Cost. After the initial purchase, using a penis pump costs less than any other type of erectile dysfunction treatment.

• Penis pumps are noninvasive. Penis pumps don't require surgery, injections or inserting medication into the tip of your penis.

Can the use of a pump create a permanent size increase?

Ok, so a pump will give you an erection, possibly even your biggest erection ever, but can they actually give a man a larger penis?  Almost every magazine or website promoting a penis enlargement pill, cream or other method will say penis pumps simply don’t work.  They’ll claim that research shows no link between the use of a penis pump and any permanent size increases.  But is this true?

The theory behind how a penis pump can give you a permanently larger erection is actually quite sound.  A vacuum will allow the penis to reach it’s absolute maximum size by in effect, over-filling it with blood.  Over time, this over-engorgement can gently stretch and enlarge the tissues and area within the penis, including the corpus spongiosa and both corpora cavernosa, and allow for a greater amount of blood to fill the area more easily(2).  Eventually these tissues can expand enough to be able to more easily hold all that blood - no vacuum necessary.

Additionally, over time the use of a pump can stretch the suspensory and fundiform ligaments of the penis (3).  These are the two ligaments that are cut during penis enlargement surgery.  Once cut, the penis tends to protrude out further from the body, up to 1’-2” further, essentially giving you a longer penis.  During healing, these ligaments must be continually stretched so that they don’t heal back to the way they used to be (or even shorter than they used to be!).  Stretching of these ligaments is essential to post penis-enlargement surgery, and is virtually essential to any penis enlargement effort, including using a pump .

To answer the question of whether or not a penis pump will make your penis bigger, the best thing to do is actually read the studies for yourself.  There haven’t been many, but there are a few  INSERT LINKS.  Check out the satisfaction of the participants.  Did they notice any size increases?  Did they keep using a pump even after the study was over?  You’ll find that most did (4).  Studies suggest that about 50%-80% of men are satisfied with the results of VCD Why would they continue to use one if they didn’t work?  Notice how the pre and post-study measurements were actually taken.  Were they done in similar conditions (e.g. same time of day, same relative humidity, temperature, etc)?  All of this can affect results.  Most importantly, what exactly were the results?  Was ANY size increase noted, even if just a slight one?   Opponents are quick to dismiss the use of a pump because they’ll tell you any size gains weren’t notable, but what do you consider notable?

It turns out there actually is evidence that the use of a pump over time can and will increase penis size, though slight.  A recent study done by the British Journal of Urology concluded that at the end of a 6 month period there was an average size increase of 0.3 centimeters, which they claimed was not statistically significant (5).  0.3cm is still an increase, however.  That study was based on using a pump three times a week, for twenty minutes each session, over a period of six months.  What if it was used 5 times a week, and went on for 2 years?  Would there be even bigger gains?  It stands to reason that there would be.  Keep in mind that 0.3cm is an average; some participants gained more, others less.  Also notable is that even though such a small size increase seems minor, most men who participated in penis pump studies actually noticed an increase and were happy with the results (6).  Most men will take what they can get - even a small increase may be worth it!

With very few published studies, the reality is that much more data is needed before concluding anything.  Even so, anyone will tell you that as long as you use a penis pump safely, there is no reason not to try one, and there is no question that some guys say it really does make a difference.

How to use a penis pump:

With the seal on the tube tightly against your body, continue pumping until your cock is firmly erect. Now stop for a moment and check things out; Does this amount of pressure feel comfortable? Is there any unusual discoloration or veins that look on the verge of exploding? If all seems well, pump a little more and hold, asking yourself the same questions each time you stop. If you feel uncomfortable at any point, open the air valve and release the pressure. You can always pump back up again any time you're ready.

We recommend keeping your active pump time to under twenty minutes. We know you want that massive cock now, and penis pumps can produce some impressive short term results, but size isn't going to matter at all if you permanently damage your dick. You could wind up in the emergency room with a ruptured cock, or worse yet, you may become unable to get a normal erection.

If you are pumping for penis enlargement

Maintain a regular pumping routine for about six months if you want to see penis enlargement results.

• You have to keep a regular routine going after that if you want those results to be permanent. It's really no different than any other type of regular exercise program.

• Men who report the most success use pumping sessions (about 30 minutes each) three to four times a week, allowing recovery time between sessions.

• You will gain a great deal more in girth than you will in length. If you've always wanted a chubby, then regular pumping may just be the thing for you.

Penis pumps can also be an enjoyable masturbator.

By regulating the suction, you can pump yourself into blowing a pretty good load. This is probably the main reason most men pump. What guy doesn't enjoy having the cum sucked out of him?

Be sure to read and follow all operating and safety instructions that come with your penis pump.

About Penis Pumps

Penis pumps were originally developed to help men with erectile dysfunction, to get a “hard on”. Today with Viagra, Levitra, and other drugs, penis pumps are used more for play as a male masturbation device, or to help get a harder erection without drugs.
